                               Public Safety Officer

                                             Full-time (40 hour/week position). Officers are responsible for helping to
                                          ensure the safety and security of all members of the College community, and
                                          the security of College property.
                                           Duties include patrolling the campus and surrounding areas on foot and
                                           in College-owned vehicles; handling emergencies calmly and effectively;
                                          monitoring campus buildings, including fire/intrusion alarm and remote
                                           systems; providing security escort services and emergency assistance for students and employees
  as needed; assisting with traffic detail and crowd control during special events; investigating incidents and writing reports; and enforcing parking regulations. Participation in on going job-related training and development activities is required.    

        Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED; relevant training and work experience in law enforcement and/or security; excellent communication and customer service skills; the ability to effectively interact with various populations on campus and within the community; competency with computerized information systems; the ability to accurately type reports using word processing software; and a valid PA driver's license. Officers without Act 235 certification must obtain certification within 6 months of hire. Prior police academy training is preferred. Public Safety Officers will be required to work a flexible schedule of weekdays, weekends, and holidays, over 3 shifts. Public Safety Officers earn a competitive starting hourly rate.
